Pavillion for Space10´s festival called “Made in Space” which took place in june 2017.
Based on the blueprints of a utopian project called "Reality Warp" we were given the task to generate a space which would simulate the atmosphere of that world. The space would function as a temporary movie theater showing the trailer of the upcoming utopian film. Coherence between the trailer and the surroundings became the prime focus of our investigations.
The utopian world was based around nomadic communities living in harmony with nature.
One of the challenges was creating a space inside the city which upon entering transported your sense of being away your ordinary urban surroundings into rural utopia.
Notions of smell, temperature and climate became main concerns in terms of communicating the atmosphere. As the pavillion was part of a festival ground loud music and chatter amongst the participants would fill the area and grow exponentially towards the evening. We used wood chips as an insulator for blocking sound and creating a cooling microclimate inside the tunnel.
